Gadkari focus on Antyodaya

New Delhi, Feb. 7: Shifting gear from the internal security to national security, the BJP is likely to move a resolution on the issue of national security in its forthcoming national executive meeting in Indore.

The BJP, which earlier had been moving resolutions on the internal security issue, now feels that its the national security which is under threat in the wake of “burning issues” like price rise, incidents of Chinese incursion, food security, internal security, financial security and security at country’s borders. By passing the resolution on the national security, the main Opposition will continue its attack on the Centre on the issue. The three-day-long national executive and national council meetings of the party are scheduled to begin from February 17.

The party feels that all these issues along with country’s internal security, had put the national security at a risk and therefore, needs to be taken very seriously by the Centre.

A senior party functionary said while internal security used to focus mainly on the growing terror incidents inside the country, resolution on the national security would simultaneously focus on a number of issues including internal security as well as terror attacks by militant groups based in neighbouring countries.

The BJP had already been attacking the Centre for its failure to curb price rise of essential commodities and had even launched a nation-wide agitation in this regard. The party would also be raising the issue during the forthcoming session of Parliament.

Meanwhile, party chief Nitin Gadkari is expected to stress on the “Antyodaya” issue in the national council meeting in Indore.

The forthcoming meetings in Indore is Mr Gadkari first as the new BJP chief. Through “antyodaya”, a concept developed by party ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, the BJP aims at reaching out to the most marginalised sections of the society. Antyodaya means “serving the last man in the queue.”
